Fee area description
Processing fee
This fee is charged per item (or lot of identical items) and covers our time in gathering information about the item, photographing, weighing and testing it where applicable. It also covers our time in managing the auction and collecting payments etc when it is over.
This fee is payable from the sale fees if the item is taken into our possession if it is not then it is taken upfront. In the unlikely event that the item does not sell then we will take the processing fee out of the balance from other items or send you an invoice.
eBay Listing fee
This fee is charged to cover the fee eBay charges us to list items on the system and is per 28 days. This fee is due for each time the item is listed. We will always ask you before relisting unsold items that incur a fee.
Sale fee
This fee is only charged upon the sale of an item. It is a % of the sale value not including postage and packing fees. This is only charged if the item is sold and out of it we pay the Final Value Fee (FVF) charged by eBay and the payment handling charges made by PayPal (eBay payment method)
Minimum sale fee
This is the minimum fee we charge when an item sells in our Motors and Kitchens divisions
Fees are correct as of 1st February 2011 and are subject to change without notice
Please check with us for current fees.
Selling Process
Tell us what you've got - Please call or email us and let us know what you have got alternatively click here to fill out our valuation form.
Valuation - Once we have details of what you’re interested in selling we will research previous sales on eBay and provide you with a valuation of your items. This valuation is free of charge and no obligation so you've nothing to loose!
We collect your stuff - Once you're happy with the valuation we will then come out and collect your stuff. (Collection is available nationwide – click here for full details) Whilst we are collecting your stuff (if your in the North East) we will go through how everything works again and sign an agreement with you (if your outside the N.E. we will send you an agreement)
Note
Motors – We do not take your vehicles into our possession so will come to you to photograph and take details
Kitchens – We will come to you and photograph and take details before the kitchen is removed and then return to collect once removed
We list your stuff on eBay - This is where all the work takes place. We carry out the following –
1. We take professional images of your stuff
2. We create professional listings for eBay and launch your items live.
3. We handle all questions.
4. We complete the sale and take payment
5. We ship the item via the best method.
6. We send payment to you
Sales Method
All General Items and Kitchens are listed on eBay using the Buy it Now / Best offer format unless we agree that it would sell better via eBay auction. We find this gives us better control over items and speeds up the sales process.
E.G. if we value your item at £300 we will list for £400 or best offer and only accept over £300
Note
Motors – In general we will use the classified advert type of listing to sell vehicles unless agreed otherwise. This type of listing last for 28 days and we find we get more interest that way.
Payment to seller
Once an item is sold we have to give 7 of days for the buyer to make payment. If this does not happen we will relist the item at no charge to the seller and report the failed buyer to eBay.
Upon payment for the item we will the arrange dispatch or collection. (If the item is kept by the seller then we will arrange for the buyer to contact the seller to arrange collection)
The buyer then has 7 days from reciept in which they can inform us that they want to return general items for any reason (we have to allow for this under the distance selling laws). Once this period has passed we will arrange to pay the seller at the end of the calendar month via a cheque or bank transfer. If the seller has more than one item with us we will make payment when all sales are finalised.
